3 More days of FUN!

Howdy all, well i think we are making progress. It's a tough call sometimes I sit back and look at what we've done and then wonder why it took me so long. Really we have so much to repair that it tennds to creep along. It's getting there slowly but surely. Heres some progress from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. See ya'll in a few days...

Friday night we found some time to work on getting the microwave installed. We really didn't get too far and ended up picking it back up on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning all seems to be going pretty good. Microwave is in now to get the vent installed.. Yay! back to the attic we go!

Here it is all finished up.

Next we took some time to get the stove plumbed in. Atleast we can start cooking some kind of decent meals. It will have to come out again eventually but for now we need a stove.

Noel is getting all the insides primed and ready to go.
This week we will spend our time painting and making
it all look good Then we will finish facing all the cabinets
and start making doors.

We got so busy we missed a lot of pictures but this is how we sit as of Sunday afternoon.

The layout is the some what the same just made some adjustments. Believe it or not we gained a lot of cabinet space. just kinda a before and after. I know we are far from done but I will add thos this pic as we go. It's just neat to see it as it was and how it is now.

Day three, four and Five continued!

Getting the new table saw ready for action.

Starting one of the new cabinet base.

well it looks right. !

On our way for sure now starting to look like somthing.

Chey was a big help. She was getting pretty good with the saw.

Yup they fit..whoo hoo!

As of Sunday afternoon this is what we have done. starting to look like cabinets to me... see you in a couple days....

Day three, four and five!

This is how the wall sits after friday night. We put a lot of work into somthing you really won't even see but it's worthing doing it right in the end.

Seems like after a round of dry wall there is tons of clean up.

Chey is getting started on the texture.

The girls goofing off! Picking on me of course.
Saturday morning and Noel is getting a semi early start. Primer and paint. Mean while me and Kade are in the garage cleaning up the mess we made from the demo work.
Here's the finished wall. Too bad we are going to cover most of it up. But hey it looks good.

2nd day!

It's Saturday and it's demo day number two. We missed a few pics but this is what we found tucked away under the bar and behind the cabinet. I always wondered why there was so much wasted space under the bar and now we know. This wasn't the first rickey jig thing we've found and won't be last I'm sure.

Here we are just busting out the brick an unexpected slow down for sure.

Well it took a while but here we have the brick out and the rest of the cabinets are gone!

The kids jumped right in and started with the sheet rock demo. It's always fun to tear somthing up.

Here we are getting all the nails pulled and trying to work out some of the electrical. what a mess it was.

Teaching Kade how to do some wireing. He thought it was pretty kool!

Kade getting after it now. He did a good job!

All the demo done and the electrical ready to go.

Hung some plastic to help with the mess. Sheet rock is next and it's a dirty job for sure.

Sunday all we really did was some sheetrock and a bit of taping. We have the plumbers coming Monday to run the gas line for the new stove so once that is done we can finish the sheet rock and get the walls and ceiling repaired and blended in with the old walls and ceiling.

Kitchen Day 1

Howdy all! well it's that time again and a new project is under way. Noel has wanted to redo the kitchen for some time now. Well she has finally got her wish. Our first day was some simple demo. We were not quite ready to go to far with it at this point but we did want to get started. We started by removing the pantry and the oven- microwave area first. Not too bad other than the fact they used enough nails to build a whole other kitchen. Here's some pics of the days progress.
